Privacy
What data this site collects, and what it deliberately does not.
What this site does not do
Stated first because it determines everything below. This site sets no cookies. It runs no third-party advertising. Typefaces are served from this domain rather than a font network, so loading a page sends no request to a third party. There is consequently no consent banner, because there is nothing yet to consent to.
Newsletter subscription
Subscribing is the only way to give this site personal data. Nothing else on the site collects anything.
What is collected. Your email address, the exact consent wording you agreed to, the date and time you agreed to it, and the fact that the subscription came from this website. Nothing else. No name is requested and none is stored.
Where it goes. The form on this site posts to a small function on our own server, which passes the data to Kit. Kit operates the mailing list and sends the emails. Unpriced keeps no subscriber database of its own and does not store your address anywhere else.
Why the consent record exists. The consent wording and its timestamp are stored so that there is a record of what you agreed to and when, rather than merely that you agreed to something.
Unsubscribing. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, which takes effect immediately and is handled by Kit. You do not need to contact us to unsubscribe, and unsubscribing removes you from future sending.
No selling, no sharing. Your address is not sold, rented, or passed to anyone other than Kit for the purpose of sending you the research you asked for.
Requires legal review before launch. A lawyer must confirm the identity and contact details of the data controller, the stated lawful basis for processing, the retention period once a subscriber unsubscribes, and the arrangements covering transfer of data outside the European Economic Area by the newsletter provider. Nothing above should be read as a legal representation until that review is complete.
Analytics
To be drafted once analytics are enabled. Any analytics used must be cookieless and must not profile individual readers. None is active today.
Advertising
To be drafted if and when advertising is enabled. No advertising is served today and no advertising code is loaded. Should third-party advertising ever be introduced, this section and the consent position must both be revisited before it goes live.
Your rights
To be drafted. Must cover the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, how to exercise them, and the right to complain to a supervisory authority.
Contact
To be drafted. Requires a monitored contact address for data protection enquiries.
